Type of opportunity: Seasonal, full-time

Position will be located near Dubois, Wyoming at the Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp. Housing is provided at the Camp. Position will be responsible for all aspects of facilities maintenance at the Camp including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, roofing, and log work.  Facilities range in age from historic log structures to a modern commercial kitchen.

  • Plumbing – repair cabin water and sewer lines, etc.
  • Electrical – repair minor electrical issues such as outlet and switches
  • Carpentry – repair and construct walls, steps, handrails, etc.
  • Log Work – replace log chinking, stain logs, etc.
  • Roofing – repair and replace different types of roofing (steel, shingles, shakes)
  • Grounds Maintenance – conduct minor grounds maintenance such as weed-eating, picking up branches, etc.
  • Irrigation – irrigate Camp tree lines and meadow irrigation using gated pipe
  • Applicant must be self-motivated and self-directed

 Desired qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to those with a High School Diploma or GED equivalent with carpentry and/or camp management or dude ranch management background or experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, roofing and log work.
  • Knowledge of irrigation practices, specifically using gated pipe.
  • Must be able to effectively and safely operate trucks, trailers, ATVs, power tools, and hand tools.
  • Skill in oral communication and in interpersonal relations.
  • Ability to work alone and exercise independent judgment.
  • Skill in organizing, planning, prioritizing, and managing time.
  • Ability to listen, be a team player and communicate with other employees and the public.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Position will work independently outside in all weather and environmental conditions.
  • Requires strength and stamina to work in extreme outdoor conditions and pack heavy supplies to remote locations.
  • Must be able to effectively and safely operate trucks, trailers, ATVs, power tools, and hand tools.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Salary/pay: $16.53/hour
