Duties: This position is located on a National Forest where the incumbent serves as the West Zone Environmental Coordinator.  This position provides forest plan implementation direction and coordination for a complex array of resource management activities that include project compliance with NEPA, NFMA, and CEQ.  The West Zone of the Modoc has a varied and interesting program of work which includes a large vegetation management project to prevent a bark beetle outbreak, sage steppe restoration to improve habitat for sage grouse, and various rangeland improvement projects. The Environmental Coordinator plays a central role in developing, tracking, and moving projects forward.

Desired qualifications: The Recent Graduates Program provides developmental experiences in the Federal Government. It is intended to promote possible careers in the civil service to individuals who, within the previous two years, graduated from qualifying educational institutions with an associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from qualifying educational institutions. To be eligible, applicants must apply within the previous two years of degree or certificate completion except for veterans precluded from doing so due to their military service obligation, who will have up to six years after degree or certificate completion to apply
