Organization: Western Washington University
Duties: Train, supervise, and assist students, faculty and visitors in the operation of the LA-ICP-MS for geoscience applications. Collaborate with faculty and students on research projects, by developing and pursuing projects and proposals for external funding, and to refine and develop laboratory methods and procedures for geoscience applications of geochemistry.
Desired qualifications: M.S. in geoscience or physical science. Minimum 1 year of experience maintaining LA-ICP-MS instrumentation and performing data reduction for geological samples. Computer skills (e.g. Glitter, or other LA-ICP-MS data reduction software). Demonstrated commitment to work effectively with a diverse student body and good oral and written communication skills.
