Organization: Arizona Conservation Corps

Duties: Assist Bureau of Land Management (BLM) staff with the cleanup and maintenance of Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) data in the corporate AMSCM database. Duties will include but not be limited to querying the database, uploading records into the database, and identification/cleanup of redundant records in the database.

Desired qualifications: This opportunity is suitable for upper-level college students or recent college graduates – with education and training in computer science, geography, geology, mining, cartography, or a related discipline – who posses strong skills in database management/application and using GIS software to produce maps. The selected candidates will demonstrate a keen understanding of tabular and spatial data; the ability to enter data quickly, correctly and efficiently; understand how to create data documentation; and demonstrate a basic knowledge of cartography and graphic design.

Start and end dates: November 1, 2016 – October 20, 2017

Salary/pay: $500/week + Education Award
