Organization: Camp Pemigewassett
Duties: Camp Pemigewassett (“Pemi”) (www.camppemi.com) , a residential camp for boys, age 8-15, in Wentworth, NH seeks an experienced teacher/naturalist for a full-time seasonal position, June 9-August 14, 2017. Pemi has a 92 year tradition of excellence in science-based, outdoor, nature education and the person taking this position will not only teach in the program but also assist in its operation.
Desired qualifications: Candidates should have at least 3 years experience in outdoor/environmental education or science teaching, and a degree in one of the field-based sciences. Additional experience might substitute for the degree. We are specifically looking for someone with a passion for insects and related organisms. In addition strength in at least one of the following would be a plus: fresh-water ecology, forest ecology, birds, animals, astronomy, wilderness skills. While familiarity with our northern New England habitats would be helpful, it is not necessary as we can provide training.
