Duties: Alongside maintaining a strong research program, the appointed academic will be required to recruit and supervise research students, contribute to a 300-level course in science communication, and teach into/coordinate at least two of the online undergraduate courses offered by the group (currently in energy and society, contemporary issues in science in society, history of science and Antarctic science and culture). There will also be opportunities to create and contribute to new courses, including at postgraduate level, depending on the appointee¹s specific areas of interest and expertise.
Desired qualifications: The successful candidate will have a PhD in an appropriate humanities or social science discipline, relevant publications in refereed journals and books, teaching experience at undergraduate level, and experience supervising postgraduates. We welcome applicants who are highly effective teachers and communicators, and whose research lends itself to interdisciplinary collaboration.
