Duties: Responsibilities would include developing and teaching community horticulture and nutrition education programs, assisting with agriculture and horticulture field research, and managing volunteers. This is an ideal opportunity for a student with interest in community or commercial horticulture, education, nutrition, extension, or research. This position is very flexible and can be tailored to fit your interests and schedule. This position requires physical labor and ability to manage groups of youth and adult volunteers. You must be able to work long days in the heat, lift 50 pounds, and be willing to get your hands dirty.
Start and end dates: April 1 through August 31, 2017; flexible.
Salary/pay: An Americorps education stipend ($1200) at the completion of the program, housing, and partial board.
