Duties: Collaboratively develop and implement a strategic plan for the State of the Rockies Project that broadens and deepens the educational impact on CC students, and build the Project’s regional outreach and impact on current issues in the Rocky Mountain West. Sustain strong faculty and advisory committee involvement, foster rich cross-department collaboration, create a high level of campus awareness of current issues of the Rocky Mountain West. Follow natural resource policy trends, opportunities, obstacles in the Rocky Mountain West. Develop and sustain relationships with external constituencies for identifying trends and research topics that are needed and that will be impactful for policy and practice.
Desired qualifications: A Master’s degree in policy, economics, law, environmental science, environmental management, or other related fields in the social or natural sciences. Three years of experience working on natural resource issues. Knowledge of environmental and natural resource issues pertaining to the Rocky Mountain West. Experience organizing and implementing research programs, outreach programs and events. Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to different audiences. Ability to think critically and solve problems. Good judgment and ability to handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion. Must demonstrate a willingness to be flexible and versatile in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and creativity. Proficient in the use of Microsoft programs. Proficient in internet based communications and social media.
