Position Title: Accounting Clerk (Grants)

Location: To be determined; remote work opportunity with periodic time in White Bear Lake, Minnesota
Organization Overview: In 1982, a group of pheasant hunters saw the connection between upland habitat loss and declining pheasant populations. An organization dedicated to wildlife habitat conservation was needed, and Pheasants Forever was formed. Pheasants Forever’s mission work quickly garnered it a reputation as “The Habitat Organization,” a tagline the nonprofit conservation group uses proudly to this day.
Pheasants Forever’s mission is to conserve pheasants, quail, and other wildlife through habitat improvements, public access, education, and conservation advocacy.
In 2005, in response to continued declines in quail populations and suitable quail habitat, Pheasants Forever formed a quail division, Quail Forever.

Position Overview: The Grants Clerk supports PF/QF’s project implementation and administrative teams by providing project-level financial record keeping and reporting. The Grants Clerk reports to the Grant Administration Manager and takes direction from members of the Grants team while onboarding grant agreements, new vendors and helping accountants track project expenses.
Duties:
Financial
- Maintain project-level financial data
- Enter invoices for payment
- Monitor project related receivables and submit past due reminders to project managers and funding partners
Project Coordination
- Assist Contract Specialists with onboarding of grants, vendor contracting and land acquisitions
- Monitor and enforce report deadlines to meet funding partners expectations
- Assist with other grants funded administrative tasks
Reporting
- Track reporting deadlines and help submit financial and programmatic reports
- Assist Contract Specialists with project close-out reporting
- Assist with development of financial statements and year-end audit
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in accounting
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Customer service attitude and desire to be part of a successful team
- Excellent understanding of financial software and Excel
- Passion for conservation, natural resources, or outdoor recreation
Start Date: July 1
Salary/Pay: $40,000 – $44,000 depending on experience
