Position Title: Conservation Officer Intern

Position Overview: The Conservation Officer Intern will assist Conservation Officers with various day to day activities. Activities include Huntsafe programs, boat safety inspections, parks enforcement, license compliance checks, calls for service from the public, and Step Outside events. Conservation Officer Interns will be responsible for keeping a daily log of activities completed and submit a weekly summary of these activities to the immediate supervisor. Interns will also be required to photograph their activities and give a presentation at the end of the summer to regional staff.
Qualifications: Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
Start/End Dates: May-August 2024
Salary/Pay: $19.50 per hour
