Position Title: WY Public Funding Strategy Manager

Location: remote, travel within Wyoming should be expected.

Position Overview: The WY Public Funding Strategy Manager plays a key role in 1) leading public funding strategies; 2) developing grant proposals; and 3) reporting progress to agency partners on behalf of the Wyoming Business Unit (BU). The Manager is responsible for researching, writing, editing, and submitting grant applications.

Duties: 

• Outreach and relationship building with key state and federal agency partners
• Public funding strategy and research
• Public proposal development and tracking
• Participation in regional partnership meetings
• Act as liaison for our BU in the TNC public grants network

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years related work experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience researching information from diverse sources and compiling it into a cohesive reporting structure.
• Experience writing and editing proposals, promotional and informational material.
• Experience presenting to and communicating with internal and external audiences.
• Experience working with partners/government agencies.
• Experience interacting with senior leadership in a professional manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience coordinating complex projects in a decentralized organization, working across teams, business units and functions to achieve optimal results.
• Experience building networks, facilitating informational sessions, increasing internal knowledge and capacity, and identifying key stakeholders.
• Self-starting, independent worker who can thrive with minimal oversight while also functioning as an effective team member.
• Knowledge and application of current and evolving trends in public funding
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, influence and persuade.
• Conservation background and/or GIS mapping skills helpful.
• Experience or training in government relations, public policy, sustainability or fundraising a plus.
• Strong writing skills and attention to detail.

Salary/Pay: $46,800 to $69,000
