Position Title: Student Contractor Communications Specialist
Organization: United States Geological Survey (USGS)
Location: Helena, MT and Cheyenne, WY
Organization Overview: Created by an act of Congress in 1879, the USGS provides science for a changing world, which reflects and responds to society’s continuously evolving needs. As the science arm of the Department of the Interior, the USGS brings an array of earth, water, biological, and mapping data and expertise to bear in support of decision-making on environmental, resource, and public safety issues.
Position Overview: The USGS Wyoming-Montana Water Science Center is currently hiring a half-time to full-time graduate or post-graduate Student Contractor in Helena, MT or Cheyenne, WY to support internal and external communications in the Water Science Center. Work will include developing plain language science products, creating content and posting web and social media posts, and training staff to communicate with media and the public.
Pay: $24.08 -35.64 dependent on completed education.
