Position Overview: Adventure Scientists is offering a thrilling opportunity in a Volunteer Recruitment and Community Engagement position. As part of the Project Management Team, you will take the lead in recruiting volunteers and keeping them engaged through a best-in-class volunteer experience. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the recruitment of volunteers across all Adventure Scientists projects both domestically and internationally. Picture yourself engaging with their community through targeted outreach, forging strategic partnerships with like-minded organizations around the world, and coordinating a team of passionate local recruiters who bring local context. Your efforts will be complemented by the organization of captivating virtual and in-person events, all aimed at inspiring individuals to contribute to environmental impact through scientific data collection.

Duties: 

  • Build and execute their volunteer recruitment strategy both domestically and internationally inspiring collaboration and partnership with diverse communities through locally adapted approaches.
  • Lead their volunteer retention strategy, with an eye towards a world-class volunteer experience.  Constant learning and improvement will be essential.
  • Measure their volunteer engagement, motivations, and impact and utilize the data to increase and improve upon the impact their work has on their community.

Qualifications:

  • An organizer who has at least 5 years of work experience leading campaigns, building movements, and/or inspiring people to follow a cause both domestically and internationally. You have a strong track record building support behind initiatives and thrive on stage in front of potential collaborators.
  • A creative thinker who sees around obstacles and doesn’t get overwhelmed by audacious goals. You are goal oriented and set clear targets then do everything in your power to achieve them. When you don’t hit those targets, you learn, iterate, and swing again.
  • A passionate conservationist who wants to utilize your talents to mobilize the choir and give people a clear way they can be the change they want to see in the world. You see the opportunity that crowdsourcing and the democratization of science provides to effect lasting change for the environment.
  • Direct communicator with entrepreneurial vision, growth mindset, and a strong bias towards action

Salary/Pay: $60,000-$85,000 depending on experience
