Position Overview: This position will provide support to Merit Energy’s Environmental Department to ensure company compliance with federal and state regulations and programs (including but not limited to CERCLA, CAA, NESHAPS, NSPS) throughout their field operations in the United States.
Duties:
- Support compliance related to upstream oil and natural gas drilling and production
- Ensure conditions related to air quality permits are being completed. This includes annual and semiannual reporting for Title V facilities
- Submit air quality permit applications or applications to revise current air quality permits
- Coordinate stack testing (JJJJ, ZZZZ, state required) and reporting for subject engines
- Greenhouse gas data gathering and reporting related to Subparts C, W, and NN
- Complete annual air quality emissions reports (Emission Inventories)
- Coordinate Quad Oa inspections at field locations and be able to complete/submit necessary reports
- Complete and submit Tier II reports for multiple states
- Train field staff on environmental compliance issues
- Assist in due diligence investigations during acquisitions
- Any secondary or miscellaneous duties as necessary
- Work will require some overnight travel (approximately 10-15%)
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s of Science. Environmental degree preferred
Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently without direct supervision
- Possesses time management and problem-solving skills
- Competency with MS-OFFICE products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to present to large groups to conduct training programs
- Effective written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to interact with corporate and field employees
- Driver’s license and ability to drive a pickup truck
Preferred Qualifications:
- Entry level to 2 years of experience
