Position Title: Instructional Technician at Casper Mountain Science Program

Location: Casper, WY
Position Overview: The job of Instructional Technician (JC545) includes producing and presenting educational programs for students; maintaining equipment related to the functions of the program; performing demonstrations and presenting programs; and creating informational materials for distribution to students, teachers and other interested parties. This job also includes reporting daily to Casper Mountain Science Program campus on Casper Mountain to support intern staff and students in their journey throughout campus while exploring science outdoors.
Duties:
- Collaborates with a variety of internal and external stakeholders (e.g. risk management and crisis response team/committee, HR Division, Transportation, Facilities & Operations, cabinet members, legal counsel, government agencies, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or receiving information, problem-solving, supporting projects, and generating recommendations.
- Delivers educational content in a variety of settings (e.g. camps, classrooms, conferences, etc.) for the purpose of providing educational services and materials as requested.
- Develops and delivers content for educational programs and activities (e.g. teaching, demonstrating, presenting, etc.) for the purpose of educating and inspiring a variety of individuals and groups about instructional topics.
- Gathers program data for the purpose of ensuring outdoor education aligns with districts educational goals and objectives.
- Maintains equipment and inventory used for the program for the purpose of providing usable equipment for professional development, community outreach, science kits, etc.
- Oversees and supervises students, interns, assistants, volunteers and others under the direction of leadership (e.g. schedules, train, transportation needs, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring necessary information needed for all to complete assignments and tasks is communicated.
- Plans off-site classroom environment (e.g. materials, facility assignments, supplies, volunteer needs, etc.) for the purpose of providing a space where student, teachers, and staff can engage in learning outside the traditional classroom setting.
- Prepares exhibits (e.g. displays, interactive computer games, program displays, etc.) for the purpose of increasing interest and awareness of the educational program.
- Prepares a variety of written materials (e.g. program summaries, flyers, correspondence, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information (e.g. materials for public and teacher use, etc.).
- Procures supplies, materials, and equipment (e.g. camps, classrooms, planetarium, greenhouse, conference, etc.) for the purpose of delivering educational content.
- Provides in camp setting support to students, certificated staff and administration (e.g. first aide, medication dispensary, recordkeeping, etc.) for the purpose of for the purpose of supporting students within health and safety guidelines and administrative policies.
- Responds to inquiries for the purpose of providing requested information and/or referring to appropriate resources.
- Trains interns and class instructors (e.g. biology, geology, science, etc.) for the purpose of providing knowledge-based instruction to develop and deliver curriculum.
Qualifications: Community college and/or vocational school degree with study in a job-related area.
Salary/Pay: $18.37 – $24.68 / Per Hour
