Position Overview: The Grant Proposal Coordinator is responsible for supporting the organization’s fundraising plan, including grants, corporate and foundation funding. The position will work closely with the Director of Philanthropy and program staff to identify funding opportunities, write and submit grant proposals, and assist programs with proposal development and submission. The Grant Proposal Coordinator will help to ensure that identified grant opportunities align with Conservation Legacy’s mission and program funding goals and priorities. They will also support development and submission of complex federal grant applications involving one or more programs or across the organization. The position will be responsible for entering and tracking prospective grant opportunities in the Conservation Legacy’s cloud-based CRM platform.
Duties:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop annual fundraising plans that detail potential funding opportunities and priorities, ongoing grant applications, and submission deadlines.
- Help research grant opportunities that align with organizational mission and identified funding goals.
- Provide support for grant proposals including writing as well as editing and reviewing grants written by other staff.
- Ensure grant proposals utilize consistent organizational language.
- Assist with the development and submission of cross-program and organization-wide grant applications including both federal and non-federal opportunities.
Database Management
- Help to ensure the grant database accurately reflects the status of all prospective opportunities.
- Works to assure that all pertinent docs related to a grant opportunity are uploaded to the grant database.
- Generate reports from the grant database that detail quarterly activities including identification of prospective opportunities, application submission, and award status.
Donations
- Support the success of annual local Giving Days (Colorado, Arizona, and Indigenous Giving) as well as the national Giving Tuesday initiative.
- Enter donations into the donation database and help to ensure thank you notes are sent in a timely manner by the appropriate party.
General Grant Administration
- Support the maintenance of a current repository of documents that are commonly required for grant applications.
- Assist with set-up, invoicing and financial reporting for awarded grants.
- Provide back-up support in monitoring and acknowledging both general donations and annual national and local giving campaigns.
Organizational Advocacy
- Successfully engages, leads and supports an inclusive work environment for those of underrepresented populations within the organization and the communities they serve.
- Leads and/or participates in organizational-wide teams, projects and initiatives that support the work of the Strategic Plans goals.
- Reports any potential complaints within the organization as identified in the Personnel Policy Manual.
- Assists or leads other responsibilities, as assigned.
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of professional work experience including technical grant writing for a broad range of funding opportunities (foundations, corporations, local, state and federal agencies).
- Knowledge of grant processes including prospect research and application submission.
- Experience writing or supporting complex Federal grant applications.
- Experience working with Salesforce a plus. Willingness to learn new technology platforms.
- Knowledge of grant submission portals (Grants.gov, Fluxx, etc.) a plus.
- Ability to review the work of others to ensure conformance to standards.
- Ability to successfully work in a fluid, changing work environment.
- Ability to operate Microsoft Office programs and applications, or similar platforms.
- Ability to keep others and oneself, in remote locations, accountable to expectations.
- Valid Driver’s License and Insurable Driving Record per Personnel Policies.
- Must be able to pass the organization’s criminal history check requirements.
- Exhibits the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams or with a variety of populations, including those underrepresented at their organization and those of BIPOC communities.
Salary/Pay: $23.03 – $23.70
