Position Title: Abandoned Mine Land Intern

Organization: Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality

Location: Lander, WY

Position Overview: Intern will provide tasks for GIS and Electronic Records Management.

Duties: 

GIS tasks will include a variety of digital mapping products for internal and public use:

  • Digitizing tabular and spatial data gathered from electronic reports and plan sets, as well as historic paper maps;
  • Assist in compilation of existing GIS and CAD data;
  • Apply strong cartographic principles;
  • Support development of web-based solutions such as internal and public map applications and dashboards;
  • Assisting in development and implementation of GIS policies and procedures.

Electronic records management assistance to support development of GIS data:

  • Assist with organizing electronic reports for AML’s library;
  • Scanning of hard copy reports and project records for inclusion in the AML Library and GIS.

Qualifications:

Must have documented computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
Experience managing databases a plus. Documented proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS
products; including academic coursework, previous GIS internships, and/or GIS
certifications (GISCI, ESRI, etc.).

Start/End Dates: May-August 30 2024

Salary/Pay: $23 per hour
