Position Title: Fish and Wildlife Biologist

Position Overview:You will be part of a talented Idaho Fish and Wildlife Office Bipartisan Infrastructure team in Coeur d’Alene, ID. The team collaborates with two north Idaho National Forests through Level 1 Teams by negotiating conservation measures that minimize effects of projects to Federally listed species (e.g., grizzly bear, Canada lynx, North American wolverine, and bull trout). You may also assist in the recovery of Idaho’s Federally listed species.
Duties: You will be part of the Idaho Fish and Wildlife Office-Coeur d’Alene Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) team, working on various USDA Forest Service section 7 consultations across north Idaho (i.e., Nez Perce-Clearwater NF and Idaho Panhandle NF); additionally, other duties outside of consultation may be assigned dependent on workload needs and staffing capacity. Most consultations will be focused on bull trout, grizzly bear, Canada lynx, North American wolverine, and whitebark pine. The consultations will primarily include vegetation management (e.g., timber sales and fuels management) and aquatic restoration projects. The consultations vary in size and complexity, from simple routine vegetation management Letter of Concurrences to complex Biological Opinions and state or regionwide programmatics. Additionally, you may become a primary or secondary leave for a Federally listed or at-risk species. Because this position works closely with our agency partners through Level 1 Teams and in the field, remote work is not appropriate for this position. be split into “preferred” and “minimum” qualifications
Salary/Pay: $72,777 – $94,608 per year
