Position Overview: We are looking for someone to join our team through AmeriCorps VISTA. This is a full-time position, focusing on increasing the reach of three programs; Mobile Market, Satanka Food Hub, and the Composting program. You will join a passionate and driven team, and report to team leaders from each of the programs you will serve. You will conduct needs assessments for the expansion of each program, and use information gathered from community members and Feeding Laramie Valley (FLV) team members to form and implement a strategic plan for program growth.

The VISTA member will work closely with the staff in each responsibility area and will also be expected to work independently at times and in a team setting with the FLV staff, volunteers, and community members. Additional responsibilities, such as small project management, will be delegated depending on need and abilities.

Duties:

The Feeding Laramie Valley Shares VISTA member is expected to work with volunteers independently and in a leadership capacity.

• Build and deepen relationships with individuals living with food insecurity, new and existing volunteers, food producers and distributors, health and food system organizations using interviews, brief surveys, and personal contacts.

• Become familiar with various FLV programs and their constituency by reviewing reports, working with FLV program staff, conducting interviews, and briefly becoming involved in frontline programs as a means of learning.

• Identify strengths and gaps in outreach, training, and support for constituent involvement in program development and implementation. Based on this report, form a plan for improvement.

• Attend meetings and trainings as arranged by FLV CEO, FLV staff, and AmeriCorps VISTA.

• Participate in the planning and execution of FLV-sponsored events such as Food and Fun in the Park, Higher Ground Fair, and Soup and Solstice.

Qualifications:

• Be 18 years or older

• Hold one of the following citizenship or legal residency statuses:

• US citizen

• US National

• Lawful Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card status)

• Person legally residing within a state

• Must be comfortable working with a diverse group of people.

Salary/Pay:

· In accordance with AmeriCorps VISTA, you will be paid a living allowance of $877.66 taxable income bi-weekly.

· Choice of end of service award upon successful completion of service

§ The member may choose between one of the following awards:

o Education award valued at $7,395 to be used to pay for future educational training and related expenses at Title IV schools, or to repay existing eligible federal student loans

o End of service stipend valued at approximately $1,800
