Position Title: Wyoming SWAP Coordinator

Organization: Wyoming Game & Fish 

Location: Statewide, WY

Position Overview: The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking to hire a SWAP Coordinator to help revise the 2017 State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP).  This would include technical writing, internal communication of needs, coordinating with cooperators and other stakeholders, and participating in public meetings.

Duties: 

  • Assist with SWAP revision, acting as one of the primary authors of the 2027 SWAP.
  • Ensure all required elements are incorporated into the SWAP revision.
  • Collaborate closely with Department administration to prepare revision outlines and coordinate with Department personnel on SWAP sections requiring expert knowledge
  • Coordinate closely with stakeholders to determine external SWAP needs.
  • Attend internal, stakeholder, and public meetings to garner input and incorporate feedback into the 2027 SWAP.

Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates who have a Bachelor’s Degree in wildlife management, fish management, habitat management, or closely related fields. Preference may also be given to candidates who have experience in authoring or revising comprehensive management plans. Preference may be given to candidates willing to work out of a regional office, with Lander preferred over other regional offices. 

KNOWLEDGE: 

  • Knowledge of fish and wildlife management and conservation issues
  • Knowledge of habitat management practices
  • Knowledge of agency, professional, and/or industry standard practices and management
  • Knowledge of how to find, gather, and collect information and data
  • Knowledge of how to build partnerships and work with stakeholders
  • Knowledge of how to edit and revise comprehensive planning documents

Salary/Pay: $28.90 Hourly
