Position Title: Environmental Policy – Tenure Track Professor
Organization: Colby College: Department of Environmental Studies
Location: Waterville, ME
Position Overview: The Environmental Studies (ES) Department at Colby College invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position in environmental policy to begin Fall 2025. We seek candidates with scholarship and teaching experience in international environmental policy. We are particularly interested in candidates with transnational or global perspectives on climate change, agriculture/food systems, environmental justice, or other areas of environmental law or policy. Teaching responsibilities will include an intermediate-level course in international environmental policy, electives in the candidate’s area of specialty, an introductory environmental studies course, and a senior capstone course for environmental policy majors.
Qualifications: Candidates should have a Ph.D., be engaged in interdisciplinary environmental policy scholarship, and have a strong commitment to undergraduate education. A successful applicant could have a background in any of public policy, sociology, anthropology, geography, sustainability science, or a related social science discipline. Candidates who are ABD with an expected completion date prior to fall 2025 will be considered. The search committee is especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the campus community.
