Position Title: Conservation Manager
Organization: Wyoming Stock Growers Land Trust
Location: Cheyenne, WY
Position Overview: The ideal candidate is passionate about conserving agricultural land, wildlife habitats, and open spaces. The Conservation Manager will further the mission of the land trust by managing conservation easement projects. The position will have a secondary responsibility to assist with stewarding existing conservation easements. The position requires an individual with initiative, the ability to work independently, and the ability to manage a workload with multiple, often competing, priorities and deadlines. This position will contribute to the land trust’s success in accelerating the pace and scale of conservation, investing in rural communities, and keeping Wyoming’s agricultural lands intact.
Duties:
- This job is the perfect balance of technical desk work and field work.
- Manage a portfolio of conservation easement projects
- Assist staff in annual monitoring of existing conservation easements
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external requirements, including
alignment with the Land Trust Alliance’s Standards and Requirement - Compose reports and serve as staff to the Board of Directors Conservation
Committee. - All other duties as assigned. This may include, but is not limited to, assisting with
communications, planning and executing events, supporting meetings, and vehicle
maintenance. We are a small, assiduous team that is supportive of all areas of the land
trust’s work. - Promote and further the mission of the land trust.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in natural resources, conservation, real estate, or similar industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred.
- Exhibits strong interpersonal skills rooted in teamwork, diplomacy, and respect with a
commitment to working collaboratively. - Personal reliability and demonstrated ability to manage various projects with accuracy and attention to detail.
Salary/Pay: $60,000 – $70,000 annually
