Position Title: R3 Specialist

Position Overview: Hunting and Angling Recruitment & Retention Specialist
Duties: The Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports (Council) is seeking a Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation (R3) Specialist located in Cheyenne, Wyoming to work in collaboration with Wyoming Game and Fish Department. This position is a 12-month at-will position with an intended start date of July 10, 2025.
The R3 Specialist will work with the R3 Coordinator to support the development of community-based social marketing campaigns to support the recruitment and retention of anglers and hunters. This work expected includes developing email and social media content and supporting department programs such as Becoming an Outdoors-Woman, the National Archery in Schools Program, Super Tag, and WY Hunt Fish. The R3 Marketing Specialist will work with the R3 Coordinator to develop an R3 strategic plan. This position will support programs at Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp and will be expected to spend 5-6 weeks at the camp during the summer. Additionally, the specialist will travel during the school year to help facilitate training and other programs. The R3 Specialist will report to the R3 Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Support Wyoming’s R3 strategic plan development through committee organization, agenda development and background research.
• Administer programs on Kalkomey registration software and support participant registration.
• Work to develop angling drip campaign content using Gov Delivery.
• Work to develop hunter retention drip campaign content using Gov Delivery.
• Engage with industry partners, NGOs, and state, federal and tribal wildlife agencies to amplify R3 ecorts.
• Maintain National Archery in the School Program Basic Archery Instructor certification and Wilderness First Responder certification.
• Support R3 data analysis and report preparation.
• Support R3 program development and implementation for college students
• Assist with the development of R3 email marketing and social media content.
• Assist in developing activities and events, targeting the recruitment, retention, and reactivation of hunters and anglers.
• Assist instruction at hunter education courses, mentored hunting experiences, field days, and other outdoor education programs.
• Support NGO partners in developing and executing WY Hunt Fish programs.
• Support the planning and execution of Wyoming Becoming an Outdoors-Woman, Beyond B.O.W., and Wyoming Collegiate Conservation Symposium at Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
**Must have a valid driver’s license.
PREFERENCES:
Preference will be given to those with a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, human dimensions, outdoor recreation, tourism, wildlife management, or other related field.
Preference will be given to those with experience teaching fishing, archery, firearms, navigation, back-country hikes, and team-builders.
KNOWLEDGE:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with all ages and backgrounds.
• Ability to develop compelling and accurate digital content.
• Knowledge of hunting and fishing techniques.
• Must have the ability to work outdoors in varied terrain and weather conditions and be comfortable pulling trailers and operating 4WD vehicles.
• Ability to maintain composure and delegate during continuously changing work conditions.
• Must have excellent communication skills, strong organizational and leadership skills, enthusiasm, flexibility and a passion for working with others.
Start/End Dates: July 2025-July 2026
Salary/Pay: $22.96/hr
