Organization: Hidden Villa
Duties: Teaching middle school and high school age youth YD program curriculum which includes topics on Cesar Chavez, Sustainable Agricultural, Team Building & Ropes Course and Wilderness appreciation. Collaborate with YD Manager and Intern for program prep and to continually refine programs. Support volunteers in program prep and mastery of curriculum. Assist with organization, planning and logistics pre and post program.
Desired qualifications: Ability to exercise judgment in a position of responsibility and to work without direct supervision, 2 years teaching experience with teens in experiential educational field, experience with or passion for learning about sustainable agriculture, environmental education, and Cesar Chavez. Experience working with youth from a diversity of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Ability to be flexible and assume responsibility for group instruction with minimal preparation. Have a valid California driver’s license, free of any major infractions. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and comfortable entering pens with farm animals. Spanish speaking not required but strongly preferred. Ropes Course or Belay Experience. CPR & First aid certified or willing to obtain.
