Duties: The person in this position will canvass in the area around Camp Baker to provide floaters with the following information through face-to-face conversations:
- Information on the threats and risks to Sheep Creek and the Smith River from this proposed project.
- Updates on the mine permitting process
- Opportunities to get involved (volunteering, letters-to-the-editor, petition signature, public comment to the DEQ, etc)
Start and end dates: This position will be at Camp Baker Monday-Friday from May 15 to July 15. The hours worked will vary but will usually be in the afternoon/early evening. The person in this position can expect to work around 12pm-8pm.
Salary/pay: This position will be paid monthly, $2,500 a month, for a total of $5,000 for the two months. Due to the remote location of the Smith River and Camp Baker, the person in this position would have to camp either at Fort Logan FAS, 8 miles up the road from Camp Baker, or at Camp Baker itself.
