Job Title: Wildland Firefighter

Organization: Bureau of Land Management

Location: Devil’s Canyon Veteran Hand Crew. Worland, Wyoming

Duties: Works with a 20 person hand crew using chainsaws and hand tools to extinguish, control, and mop-up wildland fires. Candidate also performs project work that will include natural resource work such as hazard fuel reduction, thinning, piling slash, and other projects as assigned. Other work would include preparation, ignition, and monitoring of prescribed fires.

Qualifications: Veteran Preference but not required. Previous experience in wildland fire or natural resource work is advantageous but not required. Individuals should be highly motivated, physically fit, willing to travel, love the outdoors and do well in a team environment.

Start/End dates: Approximate: May 15 to October 2019

Salary/pay: GS-03 and GS-04 Federal Salary Tables based on Experience
