Do you want to be part of an organization that is driven to provide great educational experiences? Do you want to earn money to pay for school or pay off student loans? With The Science Zone AmeriCorps program, you’ll have a chance to serve young people through outreach activities in the community, outdoors, or at The Science Zone. The AmeriCorps summer members’ primary duties will be to work with youth during summer camps and community outreach events. The program has a heavy focus on environmental education and most of the camps will take place outdoors.

Although AmeriCorps does not offer salaried positions, members receive many benefits which include a living allowance and education awards. Additionally, being part of AmeriCorps is to be part of a whole ecosystem of service that will benefit members throughout their lives. The Science Zone is currently recruiting for summer AmeriCorps positions. Both positions include Segal Education Awards upon the successful completion of service. There is a potential for housing assistance for summer positions as well.

Qualifications: Candidates must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. Preferred experience working with youth in the fields of environmental education.

Start/End Dates: May 23- Aug. 12

Salary/Pay: Positions are available for 300 hour ($2333 total stipend) or 450 hour ($3750 total stipend) service commitments.
