AmeriCorps Newfound Watershed Stewards, Newfound Lake Region Association

Bristol, NH

Job Title: AmeriCorps Newfound Watershed Stewards

Organization: Newfound Lake Region Association

Location: Bristol, NH

Overview: The Newfound Lake Region Association is one of eight host sites of the Lakes Region Conservation Corps program, an AmeriCorps state service program that develops skills and experiences for conservation professionals.

Newfound AmeriCorps members, our Watershed Stewards, advance NLRA’s conservation mission while gaining important skills and experiences to advance their own careers. They have a true impact on the watershed and the Newfound community by creating education programs, inspiring volunteers, and implementing projects that protect water quality. Members collect and analyze water quality data, plan and lead environmental education and volunteer programs, maintain trails throughout the watershed, protect the lake and watershed from invasive species, implement stormwater management projects, create key educational communications aimed at the broader Newfound community, and support the general operations of NLRA. AmeriCorps members support the growth of stewardship of our lake, rivers, forests, and mountains through their actions and presence in the Newfound community.
