Overview: The Yale School of Environment: environment.yale.edu seeks a field-ready, adaptable, and highly motivated individual to support summer field research across the West. The project will be based out of Missoula, Montana with extended 1-2 week field work trips across the big sagebrush region of the western U.S. (returning to Missoula between trips into the field). Accommodations during these trips will primarily be car-camping on public lands. Field work will provide experience in standard vegetation monitoring methods (e.g., line-point intercept, gap-intercept) used extensively by land management organizations, supplemental methods designed specifically for this project, and soil sampling. Field sites are widely distributed across the West and travel between sites will require long periods of driving (4-12 hours). This position provides a unique opportunity to explore the rugged and stunning landscapes of the West while gaining valuable field experience.

Start and End Dates: Mid-/late-May through the end of July.
