Position Titles: Recreation Supervisor and Recreation Coordinator

Organization: Yellowstone Co-Op Employee Recreation Program (YCERP)

Location: Yellowstone National Park

Organization Overview: YCERP is a cooperative employee recreation program in Yellowstone National Park serving the following entities; The National Park Service, Yellowstone National Park Lodges operated by Xanterra Parks & Resorts, Yellowstone Park Service Stations, Yellowstone General Stores operated by Delaware North, Inc., and Medcor in Yellowstone. The hiring process for the Summer 2023 season is beginning soon and each year the program seeks applicants to fill 20 seasonal positions for the upcoming summer season.

Position Overview: Throughout the year they offer a wide range of services and programs that connect Yellowstone Employees to each other and to the park itself. There are so many ways to enjoy Yellowstone when you live & work here! Some of the activities include running league sports such as softball, basketball, volleyball and pickleball, along with guiding hikes in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, taking employees on adventure trips such as whitewater rafting, kayaking or wildlife watching and maintaining the recreation facilities. The recreation facilities give employees spaces to exercise, play sports, read a book or socialize and relax. 

Qualifications: Desired applicants should have achieved or be working towards a degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Physical Education, or another closely related field.  Experience implementing recreation activities in an organizational setting is beneficial.  Job duties require planning, recruiting, advertising, communicating, interpreting, and accounting.  All applicants should be motivated to acquire a breadth of recreational programming experience.

• Should have achieved or be working towards a degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Physical Education or a closely related field. All applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have a good driving record, and be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical.
• Experience implementing recreation activities in an organizational setting is beneficial. Job duties require planning, recruiting, advertising, communicating, interpreting, and accounting.

Start/End Dates: 

• Recreation Supervisor dates of employment range from April to October
• Recreation Coordinator dates of employment range from May to August
