Position Title:Green River Valley Program Director

Position Overview: The Jackson Hole Land Trust has an opening for a salaried position as a Conservation Project Manager. This individual manages a portfolio of conservation easement projects across JHLT’s program areas in Northwest Wyoming. They will be responsible for the conservation easement acquisition process including managing landowner relationships, project negotiation and development, review of due diligence, project-specific grant-writing, and closing.
Duties:
- Programmatic Management:
- Oversee strategic plan implementation for the Green River Valley Program, including setting and executing programmatic goals
- Work in close coordination with JHLT’s Green River Valley Program’s Advisory Council, including running regular meetings
- Provide updates on GRVP progress, as needed, to JHLT Board
- Represent the GRVP in public settings, including the GRVP Annual Picnic
- Conservation Easement Transactions
- Conduct direct outreach with potential easement landowners in GRVP area to inform them about conservation easement structure and potential benefits
- With the assistance from Vice President and protection team, negotiate with landowners for conservation easement acquisitions and determine most beneficial structure for all parties
- Present conservation easement proposals to the GRVP Advisory Council, Vice President and Board of Directors, on occasion
- Make recommendations to, and provide support for, the Vice President regarding conservation planning and new conservation easement opportunities
- Assist protection team with funding applications, including providing project details and composing relevant sections of application materials
- Represent JHLT at regional meetings and conferences with funding partners and stakeholders
- Budgeting and Fundraising
- In conjunction with President and COFO, oversee development and execution of annual budget for the GRVP
- Build and maintain relationships with key GRVP donors and grantors
- Identify and support grant proposals for conservation easement funding
- Support JHLT fundraising team efforts to raise annual funds for operations budget
- Communications
- Help establish and update key messaging for the GRVP
- Contribute written materials to program newsletters and other communications
- Stewardship
- Maintain productive relationships with easement owners
- Assist Stewardship Director and team, as needed, on landowner outreach within the GRVP
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a strong vision for conservation in the Green River Valley, exceptional attention to detail, be extremely well organized, and have very strong interpersonal and communication skills. They should have direct management experience in a relevant conservation field. The successful candidate will have a passion for conservation in northwest Wyoming and will thrive in a fast-paced environment working closely with the President, the Green River Valley Program’s Advisory Council and the JHLT team. JHLT will prioritize a strong natural/agricultural sciences background for this position, though a formal degree is not a requirement.
Salary:$72,000- $85,000
