Position Title: Visiting Assistant Progessor of Environmental Studies

Position Overview: Dickinson College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in our Environmental Studies Department, commencing July 1, 2024. The successful candidate will approach environmental challenges from an interdisciplinary perspective and will be expected to use active pedagogy to engage students in the field of environmental studies. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a total of five upper-level Society and Environment classes during the year in their area of expertise, with one repetition. Classes could include but are not limited to Environmental Policy, Environmental Justice, Environment & Society, Sustainable Urban Environments, or Food Justice.

Qualifications: Experience in Environmental Policy teaching is preferred. PhD required in Environmental Studies or a related social science field, such as Political Science, Policy Studies, Geography, Anthropology or Sociology. Advanced ABD may be considered.
