Position Title: Master Graduate Teaching Assistantship: Human Dimensions of Natural Resources

Position Overview:  Dr. Ed Gallo-Cajiao is recruiting a Master student to begin in August 2024. Dr. Gallo-Cajiao is a conservation social scientist with a focus on governance and wildlife. His main areas of research involve the institutional dimensions of migratory species conservation and of vertebrates more broadly.

The successful Master applicant for this position would work in the lab and pursue an independent research project related to Dr. Gallo-Cajiao’s research on conservation governance. The student’s work will focus on global political biogeography, under the broader framework of a project already scoped at the intersection of spatial ecology and politics. A more detailed project description will be provided on request to those interested applicants.

The Master position will include annual tuition support and funding for two years through a Graduate Teaching Assistantship within the Department of Human Dimensions of Natural Resources. The successful applicant will be offered support for the first year, with second year support contingent to progress. The applicant must have previously obtained a Bachelor of Science with some research experience in an area related to ecology, conservation, policy, or governance, including quantitative research methods.

Start/End Dates: August 2024 for two years
