Position Overview: The Department of Environmental Sciences at Emory University, Atlanta, GA, invites applications for a full-time, nine-month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with a specialization in Hydrology and Water Resources, beginning Fall 2025. We seek an Applied Environmental Hydrologist trained in the systems approach, and whose work interfaces with and addresses thematic issues of water quality/quantity, biodiversity conservation, sustainable food production, climate change, urban ecology or human health. Areas of special research interest may include the water-energy-food nexus, adaptation to climate change, toxicology, watershed management. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated scholar-teacher who can make an excellent contribution to the Department’s growing research and teaching efforts in these critical areas.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a widely recognized and policy relevant research program that attracts external funding and that contributes to the interdisciplinary mission of the Department and the University.  As a tenure track position in Emory College, the candidate will develop and teach a mix of undergraduate and graduate courses. The candidate will also contribute to the Department, College, University, and relevant professional societies and community through service, collaboration and engagement. 

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a PhD in Environmental Sciences, Hydrology/Hydrological Science/Hydrogeology, Water Resources Systems/Management, Geography, or a closely related field by the time of appointment.
