Organization: U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke recently signed Secretarial Order 3362 to improve habitat quality, western big game winter range, and migration corridors for antelope, elk, and mule deer. The order purports to foster improved collaboration with states and private landowners and to facilitate use of the best available science to inform development of guidelines that protect big game populations.
Duties: This internship will track Department of the Interior agencies’ progress on implementing the Secretarial Order. The intern may also assist in efforts to inform the agencies’ decision-making process via document review and dissemination, meeting coordination and science communication.
