Job Title: Camp at home counselor, expedition instructor

Type of opportunity:

Camp At Home – You will lead a group of up to 4 campers at the campers’ home each day for 6 hours/day, Monday – Friday. The curriculum will be discussed with parents ahead of time and may include: Survival Skills, Biking, Outdoor Cooking, Map and Compass, Campsite Planning and Setup, Hiking, Nature Crafts and so much more. Activities would be facilitated in and around their home and local green spaces.

Small Group Adventures – You will lead a small group (up to 5 campers) on a full day of sport-specific adventure, Monday – Friday. You will meet the group at the recreation site/trailhead and spend the day providing instruction in one of the following: mountain biking, rock climbing, and paddling. Position speciality is based on your skillset.

Desired qualifications:

Must have reliable transportation to get you to/from work every day.

Must have a strong desire to work with school-aged kids.

For rock climbing positions: Experienced and credentialed rock climber able to confidently set-up (natural and bolted anchors) and manage a top rope climbing site. SPI (or similar) certification preferred.

For biking or paddling position: Extensive professional and personal experience, including training and actual experience with emergency response.

Start and end dates: Now through August 14, 35-40 hours a week
