Job Title: Summer Interns

Organization: ACRES Student Farm

Overview: ACRES (Agricultural Community Resources for Everyday Sustainability) Student Farm is the University of Wyoming’s 1.8 acre vegetable farm that is community-oriented, volunteer-based, and student-run. ACRES grows its produce using sustainable methods and strives to support and promote local agriculture. The Student Farm additionally provides educational and research opportunities for the Laramie and University of Wyoming communities.

Positions Available:

Farm Manager:

  • Duties include – managing interns, conducting farm tours, daily farm duties (watering, maintenance, planting, harvesting, weeding, etc.), meeting with buyers, CSA pickups, planning and organizing harvests
  • Duration – April to October
  • Hours – 40 hours per week (hours lower during academic year)

Farmhand:

  • Duties include – daily farm duties (watering, maintenance, planting, harvesting, weeding, etc.), CSA pickups (as needed)
  • Duration – Mid-May to the end of September
  • Hours – 30 hours per week (hours lower once school resumes)

Community Outreach Specialist:

  • Duties include – daily farm duties (watering, maintenance, planting, harvesting, weeding, etc.), CSA pickups (as needed), planning outreach and lessons, creating educational videos
  • Duration – Mid-May to the end of September
  • Hours – 30 hours per week (hours lower once school resumes)
  • (Note: UW FCS students will be given priority on the Community Outreach position)
