Position Title: Ranch Hand

Organization: A Bar A Ranch

Position Overview: The position is on the maintenance team as a groundskeeper/ranch hand who focuses on golf course and sprinkler irrigation upkeep and maintenance. This is a great summer opportunity for someone interested in being a member of the A Bar A summer staff team and working outside with their hands through project based work.

Duties: Reports to Maintenance Director. Responsible for flood irrigation of all horse pastures, including ditch and weir maintenance and record-keeping. The irrigator is responsible for continually adjusting and maintaining proper flow to adequately water the pastures without over-watering. This individual must be self-motivated and prepared for hard physical work outdoors, usually working alone. The irrigator is also expected to help with weed control in the pasture areas and other areas and work as a member of the ranch hand/grounds crew when not busy with irrigating tasks.

Salary/pay: A monthly salary is included for compensation along with room and board (including all meals) plus a share of the general tips fund which is pooled from all guests and distributed to staff at the end of the season.

Start/end dates: Mid-May to the end of September
