Position Title: Forestry Seasonal Worker

Location: Cheyenne, WY
Organization Overview: Cheyenne Urban Forestry Division is charged with maintaining approximately 14,000 city-owned trees, including trees in parks, golf courses, cemeteries, along the greenway and on city properties. The forestry division provides a full complement of tree care services, including planting, mulching, watering, insect and disease identification and treatment, pruning and removals. The division consists of 9 full-time and 5 part-time/seasonal staff who are trained and qualified to implement these services to insure city-owned trees receive the best of care.
Positions Overview: Performs tree maintenance work, such as planting, pruning, watering and mulching. Proficiently and safely operates vehicles, equipment and tools in support of tree maintenance and tree planting.
Duties: Work is performed outside most of the time, under varying and extreme weather conditions. Ability to work in environmental conditions which may include excessive noise; dust, pollen, gases, oils solvents and chemicals including a variety of herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers. Work may be performed on weekends; overtime and adjusted schedules may also be required.
Qualifications: Applicant must be 18 years old with a High School diploma or equivalent. Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience working in horticulture, arboriculture or landscaping.
Salary/Pay: $13.00-$15.00/hr.
Start/End Dates: Start date May 2, 2022, or soon after. Seasonal position, working 40 hrs./week during the summer. Work schedule is Mon-Fri 6:30am-3:30pm, limited overtime may be required
