Position Title: Surveyor
Organization: Bureau of Land Management & University of Alaska Fairbanks
Location: Western Montana
Position Overview: The Bureau of Land Management and the University of Alaska Fairbanks is looking to hire several surveyors this summer to work in Western Montana. Survey work is based on visitor satisfaction and collecting data to write recreation management plans.
Duties:
- Administering on-site surveys at remote recreation sites in Western Montana between Missoula and Helena. The project is based out of the Butte field office but surveyors will travel frequently.
- Camping 3-5 days a week (specifics of accommodations are yet to be determined)
- Potential campground duties such as pit toilet and fire ring maintenance
- Online data entry of on-site surveys
Benefits:
- Surveyors will be reimbursed for travel to Montana and reimbursement for personal vehicle use is available for the duration of the position, as well as work vehicle use.
- Experience working with the BLM and at remote sites
- Pay rate is $16.65/hr, plus $40/day per diem
- Housing provided in Helena.
- Extensive time to be spent outside in the beautiful Montana mountains
Start/End dates: May 22 -September 4. Partial availability will also be considered
