Position Title: Undergraduate Administrative & Research Assistant Position

Position Description: Dr. Jewel Lund is recruiting an undergraduate student with excellent organizational, research, and data management skills and with interest in interdisciplinary and applied sciences to support an NSF EPSCoR-funded project called WyACT (Wyoming Anticipating Climate Transitions). This 5-year project seeks to partner with Wyoming decision-makers, operational experts, and communities to anticipate and prepare for changing water
availability in the coming years in the headwaters regions of western Wyoming. The WyACT project is transdisciplinary by nature, with plans to connect and coordinate with many people and organizations outside of academia, including policy makers, water and land managers, farmers and ranchers, sovereign tribes, and recreationists. The undergraduate research assistant will work closely with the WyACT Knowledge Co-production Coordinator to organize, streamline, coordinate, and prepare for interactions with collaborative partners outside of academia. This will entail researching current events and organizations working in water in Wyoming, establishing and maintaining a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, supporting a communications lead with outreach materials, and helping with ongoing research as needed. The frameworks
established with this position will be used beyond the 5-year WyACT project to support the newly established Center for Climate, Water, and People.
Duties
- Establish and maintain a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for WyACT to organize, streamline, and coordinate interactions with collaborative partners outside of academia.
- Support in the design and dissemination of communication and outreach materials.
- Support research for current topics and events related to those interested and working in water resources in Wyoming.
- Support ongoing research projects as needed.
- Work with a large, interdisciplinary team on a relevant and current topic.
Qualifications
- Possess outstanding organization and written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated excellent research, data management, and data entry capabilities.
- Experience collaborating and/or working as part of a team.
- Show creative and flexible thinking, be self-motivated, and able to work independently with
guidance and support from project collaborators. - Interest or experience in interdisciplinary and collaborative problem-solving; water issues; climate change adaptation and/or working with diverse stakeholder groups.
Salary
- $15/hour, 10 hours/week
