Job Title: Girl’s Year Round Overnight Program Director

Organization: Camp Newaygo

Position Overview: To further the mission of Camp Newaygo through the development, planning and delivery of program activities and events. 

Duties:

• Deliver creative, innovative, fun programs to clients through daily summer programs, evening activities, school camp programs, rental groups, & community events
• Serve as the onsite leadership contact year-round, addressing community and emergency facility needs
• Develop & implement pre-camp staff training in conjunction with The Camp Director
• Assist in the development and implementation of programs & schedules for all areas of camp & facilities year round
• Create and oversee the implementation of an ongoing camp staff and camper recruitment strategy including: distribution of program marketing materials, presentations targeted to groups, and managing camp webpage and associated electronic & social media
• Manage and support the Camp Newaygo Advisory Council
• Assist in facility preparation & host rental groups year-round including school groups, weddings, catering & family programs, which may include serving several nights a week and weekends on-call

Qualifications: 

• Minimum age – 21 years old
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation, hospitality, events, or related field
• Previous experience in a leadership role at a resident camp
• Certified in Waterfront Lifeguard, CPR, & First Aid or ability to attain
• Experience & Certifications with High/Low Ropes Course 
• Ability to pass backgrounders and driving checks

Salary/pay: $36,000 with included benefits
