Job Title: Summer Guest Experiences Intern

Position Overview: This paid summer internship position is perfect for the person who wants hands on entrepreneurial experience. Consider this not only for hospitality but for learning the ropes to becoming a small business owner.

The YL Ranch is a boutique guest ranch offering four self-contained units for guests, a Main Ranch House for retreats and family reunions and in 2022, an off the grid camping experience targeted to the moto groups riding the newly announced Wyoming Backroads Discovery Route. The Wyoming BDR starts only 20 miles from the ranch and passes directly past our property making it the perfect start and end point for the adventure riders along the 897-mile route.

The YL sits in the Little Snake River Valley with the Savery Creek offering fishing opportunities for guests. The boundary for the Medicine Bow National Forest is 2.5 miles up the Savery Stock Drive and boasts some of the best hiking and mountain biking in Southern Wyoming.

The YL needs someone with the ability to think outside the box to promote a unique guest experience. Someone who enjoys people, can roll with unexpected challenges, and is committed to embracing the history of the ranch along while attracting guests looking for that rare one-of-a-kind adventure.

Duties:

• Manage Reservations
• Marketing
  
  • Plan and curate social media calendar
  • Showcase the YL with photos and stories
  • Propose new marketing ideas to drive guest inquiries and reservations
  • Plan and grow retreat/reunion/wedding business
  • Promote to international tourists
  • Grow the WY BDR adventure segment
  • Grow cycling tourism
  • Grow outdoor adventure tourism
• Housekeeping
  
  • Ensure guest units offer a unique experience
  • Assist with preparing units for each guest
• Events
  
  • Promote and work Battle of the Gravel Mountain Bike Event
    
    • Assist with designing swag for event
  • Design retreat events
• Website
  
  • Post blogs
  • Update website – WordPress experience helpful
• Community Relations
  
  • Promote the Little Free Library
  • Establish the YL as a local gathering place as well as an international tourist destination
• Willingness to do whatever needs to be done to make the guest experience memorable
• Entrepreneurial mindset

Qualifications: 
• Excellent communication skills
• Self-starter – Think BIG, bring ideas to the table, we are not micro managers
• Work when the work needs to be done
• Problem solving
• Be able to lift 50 pounds
• Be physically active and an outdoor enthusiast, you will spend little time indoors!
• Excellent organizational skills
• Love marketing and promoting
• Valid driver’s license with ability to drive a manual transmission a bonus

Start/End Dates: May 1 – September 1

Salary/Pay: $9/hour + Lodging
